From my list of doctors recommended by members, the closest one I have would be in Seattle.  Is that  of interest to you?

When you say that test results for autoimmune antibodies came back positive, I'm not sure which way to take that.  Positive because you had no elevated level of antibodies, or positive in that you do have a problem.  I would assume that it meant that you really did have elevated antibodies and that is associated with having hypo symptoms such as you mentioned.

You really need to find a good thyroid doctor, by which I mean one that will treat you clinically by testing and adjusting the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4, as necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels.  Symptom relief should be all important, not just test results.  If you want to read more about clinical treatment, this is a good link.

If you will tell us where you are located, perhaps a member can recommend a good thyroid doctor, based on personal experience.

i went in for my yearly physical but also b/c my weeight (which for years was stable) was fluctuating 5 lbs a day and i was extremly fatigued.  the dr found a gottier on my throat that they have tested is thyroid cell growth (not cancer).  In doing my blood test the 1st time last june i was boarderline hypothyroid.  i went back in 6 months later and i believe my tsh levels where -06 but my t4 and t3 levels where not being impacted.    4 months later i noticed my nails breaking even w/ prenatle biotoin and salley hansen nail growth.  I was again gaining weight even though i wasn't eatting differently and was working out.  I addressed this w my dr and she tested my blood for i believe anit bodies or something like that auto immune which came back positive.  I have also felt lazy boarderline depressed which is extremely atypical of me.  I have moved so i do not have the exact red outs but am trying to get aq  new dr in my new state any ideas would be welcomed

On what basis were you diagnosed as being hyperthyroid?  Please post your thyroid test results and their reference ranges shown on the lab report so that members can assess the adequacy of your testing and treatment.
