not geeting enough thyroid hormone

my son has hypothyroid he is 17 months old,his endocrinologist tells me his blood shows hes getting to much medication but his brain shows hes not getting enough and he has no idea why,weve done plenty of other tests genetics and everything has came back ok ,he even tried drawing his blood when he was calm to see if that had anything to do with it but everything came back the same,now i feel like hes just givin up on it and tells me he will see me in three months is there any other tests that could be done to see why his brain is resisting the med? he tells me my son is the only case he has seen like this and just cant figure it out.can u give me any suggestions on what i should do or have u seen a case like this u might know whats causing this.i am also going to see a metabolic specialist to they said his lactade acid levels were to high.

Sorry, what do you mean about "his brain shows he's not getting enough ", is it because of he's TSH? has he any symptoms? Did they checked calcium levels?
About the lactic acid, has he diabetes? Did they tested anion GAP , yes should go to a metabolic specialist, pediatric ENDO. He did the right thing about genetic tests (abnormalities of receptors of thyroid hormones), is any tests missing?.

I also wonder how the endo determined that your son's brain is not getting enough hormone.
Is he basing this on symptoms?
What are your son's lab results?
Was he born with hypothyroidism (congenital)?

Forgive me if this seems like prying, but how does the doctor know your son is over-medicated and yet his brain is not getting enough hormones?

Is your doctor experienced in pediatric endocrinology?
Just trying to get a feel for what is going on.
