not sure what is going on

I have been hypothyroid for 5 years , finally in July of 2007 my levels were perfect i felt good and all was well. Sometime in September I delveloped a swallowing problem I assumed maybe I was getting a sore throat. Well Three months later still having this problem I have lost 30 lbs and my doctor just puts it off as a virus. He sent me in for a ultra sound on the thyroid it came back normal. Finally got him to check my thyroid again and I am now waiting for results that I should have by Monday. Im a wreck I have had this swallowing problem, anxiety, weight loss , lightheaded at times and now i am on paxil cr and xanax due to this anxiety that I normally do not have. I was wondering has anyone here been through this and if so what is there I can do?

It's been rough for these past few months, I seem to have a doctor who don't have the time to Listen. As soon as I get my results I am looking for a new doctor with some compassion and common sense.
How long have you had your thyroi problem? Did you get anxiety with hypothyroid? I feel confused I always thought anxiety was Hyper but I was yold it can go with either. the swallowing problem is the worst, i am down 30 lbs which I didnt mind but not being able to eat some foods is getting on my last nerve, i'm eatting soups and ice cream and easy stuff like that. I guess I am just fed up and I now think I was given the antidepressant for no reason my thyroid is most likely the reason for all this. Although the xanax does help with the anxiety feelings I get.  I am glad I found this web site. I have been reading so many things on here and its amazing how many people are suffering the same things. It's a hard thing to get under control, I just Hope and pray I can get this under control soon.

Sorry you feel so bad.  I'm currently hypo and have Hashimotos and have some of those symptoms.  Hopefully you start feeling better soon.
