sore neck is that a symptom of Hashimoto disease

My neck has been sore for about 3 months and the feeling is hard to swallow, when I yawn that hurts and it's not inside the throat area, it seems to be the muscles in the front of my neck. From my jaw down to the collarbone and on both sides in the center.  I've had a doctor look at it and said that there was no nodules or goiter and the TSH came back normal.  My question is, is could this be the feeling of Hashimoto in progress attacking the thyroid?  I have huge auto-ammune history in my family.

Thanks for any help

Thanks so much for the info.  When I tell people and doctors they look at me like I'm nuts.  My son has type 1 diabetes and hashimoto and so did my grandmother and an aunt with graves disease.  My son was 11 when he was diagnosed with the hashimoto and he never complained about anything they just found it doing blood work annually because of the diabetes.  So they(the doctors) were watching for it.

I am not a medical person, but was told I have hashimoto's...with normal labs, but I do have nodules...and yes I get that same feeling u described....sometimes when I yawn I get a cramp ( lack of a better word) in my neck....sometimes it takes a few mins for it to feel better.

There r some very well informed people on here that can propably answer ur question better...I will follow this thread as I myself am curious.

Good luck
