swollen lymph nodes

Hi,

I was just wondering whether anyone has experienced swollen lymph nodes associated with hypothyroidism.  For the past 2 1/2 months or the lymph nodes in the back of my neck, and also around the sides have been quite swollen - they're clearly visible as bumps under my skin.

Anyway, I had been having a number of other symptoms (fatigue, loss of appetite, depression...) and about two months ago my doctor started me on 25mcg levothyroxine...  I have been feeling somewhat better in the past couple of weeks, but apparently my blood work has not improved so he is doubling it to 50mcg.

I don't know about these lymph nodes, though, and he seems to think it's nothing to worry about?  (He did test for mono, which I don't have).

Thanks!

Maybe the higher dosage will help, then.  I'm just kind of concerned because my doctor seems rather unconcerned, but it doesn't really seem normal to me that my lymph nodes should be so swollen for so long - that's all.

Many thanks!

Hi There- I have Hashimot's Hypo and about a year ago I developed swollen lymph nodes around my neck/jaw.  My throat/neck was sore and it looked swollen. It ended up that I needed a dosage increase and I had develped Thyroiditis which is when the thyroid becomes inflamed.  I also had some nodules that were picked up with a Thyroid ultrasound.  Go to your endocrinologist and good luck to you!
