Did the doctor test you for Free T3 and Free T4 before prescribing the Armour? That is a pretty hefty dose. Your prior dose is approx. same as 2 1/2 grains of Armour, or about 150 mcg. Plus you are getting a lot of T3 in that dose. I think I would start with only 120 mcg and then see how that goes, before adding some more to your daily dose.
I was on 150mcg of synthroid and 2 tabs of 5mcgs of Cytomel I took all first thing in the morning. I take my calcium vitimans in the afternoon and didnt want them to absorb the cytomel. Now I just started 180 mcg of Amour! I hope this will help me get back to normal. I had a total Thyroidectomy in 2004. and havent felt the same since.. So I'm hoping for normalcy..;)

I was up to 125 mcg synthroid, then dropped back to 75 synthroid, then switched to 75 generic levo and added 10 mcg cytomel. That was too much cytomel, so dropped back to 5 mcg cytomel and switched to generic; then up to 88 mcg levo, staying with 5 mcg generic cytomel. Am currently on 100 mcg Tirosint and 5 mcg generic cytomel.
I take the Tirosint first thing in the morning, per instructions (my day starts 3:30 am). I take my T3 med about 7-7:30 am. This keeps me going through the day, but lets me start winding down so I'm tired and ready for bed about 7:30 pm.
In the past I was on 137 mcg of Levothyroxine and 10 mcg of Cytomel. Cytomel gave me endless 24 hour headaches. I guess this can happen to a small percent. Then I switched to Armour and every other dessicated asfter the shortage and reformulation. There is a generic for Cytomel that I did not know about then, called Liothyronine.
I was on 200 mcg of Synthroid for many years, with lingering hypo symptoms. When I found this Forum and learned about the importance of FT3 and found mine to be in the lower third of the range, I persuaded my doctor to switch me to Armour. That was working great until Armour was no longer available. I switched to Synthroid and Cytomel and after some dosage adjustments, I am now on 150 Synthroid and 12.5 mcg of Cytomel, with the Cytomel split into two doses, in a.m. and late afternoon.
Synthroid alone didn't work, and Armour made me sick too.
