throat numbness??

Hi guys and gals - new question for you........

Have any of you felt a *numb* feeling down your throat.  When I say that, I mean the inside of your throat.  I only have this on the right side of course (stupid, stupid thyroid) and my ear tingle / burn in the inner ear is back.  Like I said yesterday, the endo did not seem worried that my goiter swells with exertion and suggested I keep my June 6 appointment.  I called the ENT's office, because, who knows - this could all be 2 separate issues entirely.  I left a message and am waiting not so patiently by the phone.  My message included the request for a CT in the nicest way possible - just casual - in the hope he will listen to me this time.  Anyone ever had a swelling under the ear, where the jaw meets the neck, right under the ear lobe.  It is just slight swelling, but it may be causing the ear symptoms.

I swear, if this is not resolved, I am going to loose my mind and my job!

I was able to get on the expert forum yesterday and even got a response.  That was fast!  Dr. Lupo suggested Hashi even though I had a normal TPOab due to the description on US.

LOL over here but kinda teary eyed as well.  I am still waiting on a return call from this a.m.  To think I bring my kids to this ENT.

I bet they have the CT machine under lock-and-key?  Think I could sneak past the big bad nurse?

I just want to feel better.  This swelling is intermittent some days and constant the next and I don't understand.

The stupid ENT just called (well - the nurse) and she said she talked to my doctor and he said "since we wouldn't be the one taking it out - we want you to see Dr..... a surgeon and they have an appointment open at 3:00 p.m. today!!!!!!"  on the one hand I am grateful because I will be leaving my office momentarily, but on the other, I AM SOOO PISSED that the ENT took my money, said he'd help if it persisted, then shoved me off to another doc.

The only thought I have on it is maybe the swelling has something pressing on a nerve.

Not much help. Sorry.

At least you're back to the top of the page for a minute. Maybe someone who has more experience will be able to help.

Don't you just want to go in there and lay on the CT machine and MAKE them push a few buttons? I made the comment once that my treatment progress was like watching paint dry. NOTHING was being done. Be a squeaky wheel. SQUEAK! SQUEAK! I've barged into at least one doctors office and begged and pleaded and stomped my feet.

Hope you get it all resolved and everything is good again one day.
