thyrogen injections

Next Monday and Tuesday I will get a thyrogen injection for a RAI test later in the week.  To anyone who has had the injection:  Are there any side effects or anything I need to be prepared for?

En abril por un examen de rutina me encontraron la tiroides alterada, mi doctora me mando hacerme un xray y me encontraron un nodulo la cual me hicieron una biopcia, la cual salio positivo, como este nodulo se encontraba en la tirides decidieron extraerme toda la tiroides y en la operacion me encontraron 4 nodulos mas los cuales fueron extraidos,recibi radiacion,empese tomando syntroid de 75 despues me subieron mas y mas ahora es de 135 me hay dias que me siento bien pero hay dias que estoy muy cansada, se que el canser es una lucha constante...ahora me hicienron otro scan y me salio 2 nodulos lo cual estoy en proseso de saber que pasara me imagino que tendran que hacerme otra vez una biopcia? no lo se....vivo en el Paso Tx y aqui lo medico esta muy atrasado el mejor especialista de tyroides no quiso operarme de los nodulos wow!! dijo que es muy delicado, mi tratamiento anterior me lo hicieron en Miami Fl la cual estoy muy orgullosa del grupo de medicos del hospital Baptist de Kendall!!!!!! gracias doctor Kramber you are the best!!!!!

HELP... I had TT in December 2008 papilliary cancer.  Enlarged lymph nodes in chest area found but determined not to be thyroid related.  1 1/2 years later doctor is telling me I need to take thyrogen injection to ensure all thryoid cells are gone.

What if I don't do the injections?
Funny that I have read of multiple people with enlarged lymph nodes in lung or chest area but apparently not related and later more enlarged lymph nodes found..

Doctor today adivsed me I had a little cancer and wasn't sure the TT was necessary... I don't think I like him.. a little cancer like no big deal, well I am dealing with MY life and for him to shrug it off makes me mad

Had the scan with thyrogen shots this year - didn't really feel anything.  Sure beat going off the meds for 5 weeks like I had to do last year.

had mine this past july and noticed no difference in the way i felt.They had me stop my synthroid 10 days prior as well

I have just gotten my second shot of thyrogen.  I felt crappy yesterday (about 1 hour after) and the same today:  just fatigued with a headache.  HOWEVER, this beats, hands down, how I have felt when taken off of my synthroid for the last scan.  That was beyond horrible!

I am from Cedar Rapids Iowa area.  Where are you from.  How are you doing this week?  My shots at the beginning of the week made me sick as a dog.  I'm finally feeling better today and able to eat, but my throat is sore.

I've had thyrogen twice and its no big deal.  You get two shots, over two days in the hip.  They didn't affect me at all.  Didn't even really hurt. =)

I have no experience, but I am going Monday and Tuesday for my injections, then wednesday for the dose of RAI then Friday for the scan and bloodwork.  What a coincidence!  Good luck!
