Has your doctor ever tested for the thyroid antibodies, TPO ab and TG ab, to determine if that is the cause of your hypothyroidism? Have you been tested for free T3 and reverse T3? You really need to know the level of FT3, since it is the thyroid hormone that largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. Under some conditions the body can convert too much T4 to RT3, instead of T3. Since the RT3 is a mirror image of FT3, but is biologically inactive, the bottom line is that you end up with inadequate FT3 getting into the receptor cells and then you become hypo. I think this is worth checking out before assuming it is Thyroid Hormone Resistance.
hey hun
i just found out i have this thyroid hormone resistant syndrome, only 1 in ever 50,000 people have it its really rare and not many doctors know what it is, you need to go to a specialist that knows what this is so he or she can test u for it. im taking 350 mg and when i found out i had it they brought me down due to it effecting my heart but also taking this amount can effect ur bones ect u really need to go to a specialist as most doctors wont be able to treat u properly due to most not knowing what it is
hope this helps
I'm not familiar with "thyroid hormone resistance", but maybe some of the other members are. I'm sure someone will chime in with an answer.
