Post nasal drip is one of the biggest causes of hoarsness. If you have sinus problems and are always clearing your throat - that would be a much more likely cause than your nodule. I have 6 nodules, the largest being 1.4cm x 1cm x.8cm that I never knew about until it was accidentally found.
I have two, my biggest one is 1.54 cm, the other one is 0.63 cm. I have been hoarse, but like I said I have major sinus issues and I am always clearing my throat. I do have a bit of reflux, too. The endo doesn't think a nodyule this size can cause me to be hoarse, what is your thought?
How big were yours?Do you have hashimotos?
Your welcome! Absolutely...I have had several benign nodules.
Thanks a million. So you can have nodules that are benign just due to Hashimoto's?
Sinus issues and stress can both cause pain in the back of the neck into the upper shoulder area. I would try some moist heat on the back of your neck.
Thyroid nodules do not affect your neck in the back.....only in the front. I would not worry too much about the biopsy...I know it is easier said than done, but thyroid cancer is not the only cause of nodules.....hashimotos causes nodules as well. Good luck and let us know what you find out. :)
Could someone please help me with this:) Would cancerous nodules cause pain in back of neck that come and go, or would pain be in front?
