i'm having surgery on nov 3rd to remove the rest of the thyroid. so far i haven't had any trouble breathing, just swallowing. i'm on 3 different meds to shrink thyroid, i think, before the surgery.  i just hope removing the thyroid will cure whatever this is because i can't live like this.

About 3 weeks ago I started having the same problem with food also. Mine started out
as feeling like something was stuck in my throat. I finally went to the doctor and
explained to him that I cant lay on my back anymore due to whatever is in my throat
cuts my breathing off when I lay flat. He sent me to take an ultrasound and blood work.
The blood work came back normal but my right thyroid showed a mass about 1.1 centimeters.
He sent me to take a nuclear scan but it showed no hot or cold nodules
but still confirmed a 1.1. centimeter nodule/mass, which they classified remains
indeterminant. So I know how you feel I use to have a lot of energy but since that
thing appeared in my throat I have no energy & still have trouble breathing and yes
once your airway is cut off you will get an anxiety attack. My advise to you is seek
another Doctor if the one you are going to isn't helping your problem. My doctor
just said come back in 6 months to see if the mass has grown..Gee Thanks, your
not the one who cant breath. So needless to say I need to find someone who can
shrink that thing on my thyroid so I can breath again. I hope you find someone
who can help you.By the way try a root beer float, its about the only thing that goes
down good on me and doesn't get me nauseated. Good Luck
