thyroid ultrasound results

Should/ can you do a FNA on a 4mm nodule. Dr.'s opinion is hyperplastic nodule.I also have 3mm cyst both on the left lobe.Any opinions would be appreciated

No, really the norm is 6 months, it should not grow too fast, and maybe not at all, but they must monitor it and if it does grow significantly in 6 months, then they will deal with it then.

Thank you for your comments. I will be rechecking in 6  months.Does anyone think I should go earlier?

They don't usually do it unless the nodule is at least 1 cm.  It is hard to hit it with a needle even under ultrasound guidance when it is so small.  My sister had it done on a 8mm nodule, that was after I found my cancer, they wanted to test her asap, they did find cancer in her as well.
