I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and fibromyalgia, and I lost 25 pounds in 2009 and it did not change my levels, though my endoc tested me earlier than usual after the weight loss in case it did.  My numbers remained fairly steady for a while and then my dose got bumped up a little this winter.  My weight also crept up about five pounds probably because I was slightly hypothyroid; this winter I felt unusually hungry.

The weight loss was a side effect of trying out an anti-inflammatory diet to see if it helped the fibro (it does, a bit), and figuring that as long as I was going to be stringent about my foods I might as well measure my portions and eat less so I could lose the extra weight I'd lost since I got sick. Measuring food is really tedious so I stopped after I lost the weight, though I do casual portion control by eating out of a bento box, which can only fit so much food.  I am still eating far better than before I went on the diet, though I'm more relaxed about eating grains and refined sugar (I ate barely any of each on the diet, and I now eat small amounts of both but not a lot.)  I'm being more strict about grains/sugar again and am hoping that's all it will take to lose the extra five pounds.

I could not eat anything without having stomach pain, so I did not eat, I still have problems on and off, but I would prefer to be overweight then what I went through, the first stage was
H-Pylori, then the gastro did a bunch of tests to determine why I had pain after eating (Unless I ate like a mouse) just under the left bottom rib, so after the tests the Gastro came up with a guess that I had some sort of Arthritus in the cartiledge that supports the stomach. You know, the typical fall back on things like IBS, and Fibro Myalgia, and your not depressed because of you thyroid, here is some anti-depressants LOL

Haven't been able to lose that much since my hypo/Hashi dx, so can't say for sure, but I doubt it would have that much effect on your thyroid levels.

FTB4 -- I'm jealous; what did you do to lose 20 lbs??

I doubt it, I had some digestive problems and lost about 20 lbs over three months, and did not change my levels, other than not eating and losing nutrition. Regards FTB4
