thank you so much ill look into that
Inability to lose weight is frequently due to low metabolism due to being hypothyroid. You really need additional testing beyond TSH. TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by so many variables, that it is totally inadequate as the sole diagnostic for thyroid. At best it is an indicator to be considered along with more important indicators such as symptoms, and also levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4 (not the same as Total T3 and Total T4). FT3 is the most important test because FT3 largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. Studies have shown that FT3 correlates best with hypo symptoms, while FT4 and TSH correlated very poorly.
A good thyroid doctor will treat a patient clinically by testing and adjusting FT3 and FT4 as necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels. Symptom relief should be all important, not test results. So,if you haven't been tested for FT3 and FT4, then you should do so. Also be aware that FT3 and FT4 test results that are in the low end of the range are frequently associated with being hypothyroid. Members often report that symptom relief for them required that FT3 was adjusted into the upper part of the range and FT4 adjusted to at least midpoint of the range.

When FT3 and FT4 test results are available, if you will get a copy of the lab report and post results and reference ranges here, members will be glad to help interpret and advise further.
