Hi, I was very hyper, Dx with Hashitoxocis, The RAI kills off the thyroid so it no longer works
I guess they do this in stay of surgery. They were very swollen I could not swallow well. But I did not have any nodules, I do have a enlarged Lympnode in my neck which they are watching need to get anothr ultra sound soon. my TPO was 5632.00 something like that and my TSH was 009. not sure what else.I was very sick hot and sweaty!!!! anyhow I am hypo now my TSh when to 67.5 in late Sept. Last test it was 8.6 waiting for new test results to see if I need more Levo, right now I take 125mcg.
I131 is a radioactive iodine(RAI) that is often used for thyroid therapy and testing.
How long have you had the enlarged lymph node? I would consider a fine needle biopsy with the ultra sound if it has grown. I am learning that lymph nodes often swell and can stay that way for several months. This doesn't necessarily mean cancer.
I'm sorry to hear you have been through so much. Sounds like they are starting to get your meds dialed down. I know that it takes a while. It took me almost a year. Now I think I may need a med adjustment myself.
Hi, Yes the 1st test was Oct. 2009. it has been more then a year. I waited 6 months to see the endo Dr. and he is 1 hour away and a 3 hour wait to see him, His is a quack and i will not go back to him, so right now a have no endo and my GP is helping me.
After my Ultra sound if it has enlarged they are going to do a biopsy on it, The ENT wanted to wait and see after my Thyroid was treated, I seen him before I seen the QUACK!!
