There is no definite age at which bone marrow transplantation can be done or not done. It all depends on several factors like the indication of BMT, health of the patient, associated medical conditions and expected prognosis after the transplant. BMT is also done in infants diagnosed with leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes. It has been observed that a transplant if performed early in the course of the disease before too much damage has occurred can yield better results. Do keep us posted.
Take care and regards!
