Hello, my question is this...I was in an motor vehical accident, I wa a passenger in a van that hit on the passenger side front, when it hit I went forward into the back passenger seat (no belt) and hit my right shoulder and apparently my head. 4 days after the accident I got a massive headache on the right side of my head that lasted approx. 1 to 2 minutes and has yet to go away (now over a week). A CT scan was done and showed a right cerebellar infarct (1.2cm). I was told it was a possible mini stroke. Then an MRI was done and was told I have multiple infarctions on the brain moreso on the right than the left. It states that I have chronic microvascular disease of the brain and am to see a neurologist this week to determin if it actually was a mini stroke. I am also told I have post concussive syndrome, causing my dizziness and fatigue. Can the impact of the accident cause a mini stroke if I have microvascular disease? I am scared that I may have a full blown stroke in the future, too. What can I do to prevent one? My memory now stinks worse than it already has and I'm not that old (late 40's).
