Headache after head bump...

About 4 or 5 days ago I was cleaning the bathtub and the shower curtain fell down and hit me in the head. It hurt when it hit as those are decent sized. I had a sore spot, iced it and thought nothing of it. No dizziness, nausea or anything else. The next day I woke up with a headache. I have bumped my head a few times and never had a headache the next day so I went to see my doctor. I now had a sore spot on the top of my head, but no bump or cuts. She had me walk, look at her finger, checked my pupils etc. She said I will be fine and that of course I have a headache, I hit my head. If you drop a brick on your foot, it will hurt. That made sense. But now a few days later I still have a dull headache and am worried. I have no other symptoms. But I wonder if I am also causing a stress headache and making it worse. I still have no other symptoms except a mild headache. I am worried to take Motrin because of bleeding. Should I be worried? The headache is not getting worse, just still there. The spot is still a bit tender as well. I worry when I remember the girl that died after skiing. Is a headache normal after a head bump, and for a few days?

Thank you! I am heading out for the weekend. I still have a headache, but am almost certain it may be tension related as I have a spot on my shoulder/back that is very sore and radiating. The pain is in the back of my head on the one side the shoulder pain is. I will be calling my doc when I get back anyway on Monday if it is still bothering me. I will let you know and thank you for the reassurance. That did make me feel better.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you still have a tender spot on scalp, then it is possible to get a headache too. Scalp injury can also cause headaches. The other possibility is that there was a slight bleed or contusion of brain inside the skull if the impact was high. I suggest you get this re-evaluated. Chances of brain injury are less as the symptoms are not becoming worse. However, one can only be sure if a CT scan is done. Please discuss with your doctor.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
