Please Help My Son! i Need Answers,No one will help us!

When my son was born the doctor used a vacuum. she didnt realize my son was sunny side up,she got the vacuum on his face,my default is a picture of his face and head afterwards. Now my son is developmentally delayed now. his doctor referred us to a nuerologist, the nuerologist had an MRI done, the MRI says this "there is a mild prominence of the subarachnoid spaces and lateral ventricles.consider the possibility of benign enlargement of the subarachnoid spaces.given that the patient has developmental delay, i cannot exlude that there is some atrophy.correlation with serial head circumference should be helpful.". the nuerologist and my sons doctor wont give me a straight full answer on whats going on with my son and wont return my phone calls, they wont even diagnois him with anything. please if anyone has any idea on what might be wrong please tell me. im about ready to consult a lawyer because i dont know what else to do,im deseperate for help.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
I am sorry to hear about your son. Yes, since he has delayed milestones, this could indicate a hydrocephalus (hence have been advised to take head circumference measurements and monitor). If the hydrocephalus is large, a shunt is placed. Sometimes this can also be due to hemorrhage in the subarachnoid space or due to a genetic abnormality. Consult a pediatric neurosurgeon, maybe another one if this one is not giving you the details. Take care!

Absolutely consult a lawyer.  Many doctors dont like to give definitive answers when it involves another doctor's error. They dont want to get involved. A good lawyer should also be able to direct you to doctors who are not afraid to give the proper diagnosis and be straightforward about what they believe was the cause. Good luck to you and your son

Do consult a lawyer. Unfortunately the news that I have to break to you here is that the heads of small children are softer than silk. That dark spot on his forehead isn't a bruise.
