Hi Dr. Kokil Mathur

My baby is 7 months old this is the second time she fell off the bed and hit her head on tile. Both times she was fine almost immediately after a few minutes of crying. This second time shorter crying but her cognitive abilities were all fine, we did take her to the ER. She has had hiccups twice over the night! Is this a cause of concern?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Head injury can at times trigger hiccups. This should be investigated. Even if some time has passed, a CT scan of brain, chest X-ray and ECG should be done. It is quite possible that the hiccups you had were due to something you ate that caused gastric irritation. However a brain bleed needs to be ruled out. If the bleed was small and localized, you may not feel any other symptoms.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Initial hours are very important immediately after head injury.  If you say it is a hard hit then you should go to E.R.
