My mom has trigeminal neuralgia, it's from a tumor on the back of her head under her skull. It's intertwined in her nerves. The only thing that remotely helps her is seizure meds. It takes the edge off off the pains in her face. Good luck and get an MRI asap!
Facial pain can be caused by a variety of reasons.
A good method to help your doctor diagnose what's wrong is to keep a pain journal. List when the pain happens, how long it lasts, how would you describe it, what parts of the face are affected, does anything seem to trigger the pain, have you had any recent injuries.
Have you seen a doctor about the pain? Have you had any diagnostic tests? If so, what type and what were the results?
I hope you don't have Trigeminal Neuralgia, but if you do a good Facial Pain specialist can help you get some pain relief.
Please let us know how you're doing.
Take care,
Nancy
