So I'm waiting to ovulate. My tracker say I ovulate at a min of 16, max of 18, average of 17. Well I've been testing for the last 7 days, I'm on day19 and still no positive. I'm out of sticks so I need to go buy some more. I heard that some months you may not ovulate? Wondering if this is it or maybe I'm ovulating later than I thought, or maybe my test was a dud. On day 17 I had a crazy large amount of cervical mucus and then on day 18 I had less but more clear and I had a tiny tinge of blood in it, but no more blood since then. What do you ladies think?

Another question....When using the OPK's, I find that when I first start taking them I get no 2nd pink line, then every day I take another the 2nd line gradually gets a little darker or stays as dark at the one priod until I get my final positive darker line. does that make sense? Is this because its detecting a small amount of horome or they just do and the 2nd line means absolutely nothing?

If you don't get pregnant this cycle, I would highly recommend ordering the cheap OPK strips off amazon. Just do a search for OPK and they should come up. They are just as good at detecting the LH hormone and are SOOO much cheaper. I was able to get 20 OPKs and 5 pregnancy test strips for only around $8, and that included shipping!

It definitely looks like your temps are at pre-ovulation levels right now (lower 97s), so I also doubt that you are pregnant. If you don't want to spend any more money this month, I'd just BD every other day if possible, and keep temping to verify when ovulation occurs. It should jump to the upper 97's to mid 98's after ovulation.

Thanks for your advise Jenna. The OPKs are just so expensive. I switched to the 7 test kit instead of the 20 test kit because they are only $17. I would hate to use them and waist them because I should be getting my period in about 9 days. I think I will take one more test today and if its still negative I will stop and wait until next month. I did get my period this month so I doubt that I would be pregnant, but it has crossed my mind of a possibilty that I havent gotten that positive, maybe I should test or wait my 9 or so days?

It could be that you're just going to ovulate late this cycle. Or maybe your OPK just missed the surge for some reason. If your temp rises significantly tomorrow I'd say you ovulated today. If not, just keep taking OPKs till you get a positive.

The faint 2nd line on the OPKs means it is detecting a small amount of hormone because most women always have a low level of LH hormone in their system and it just surges to a much higher level before ovulation.
