!! HELP - Almost one month sunburn still lingering? . .

So I returned from a Caribbean holiday 19th March. Prior to coming home I spent 3 days @ a hotel complex. Wanting to enjoy the sun, I did, however I was silly and didn't use sun protection. My skin has never been a bother to me after being in the sun in the past, so I didn't really think much of it this time. On the last day I spent about 3 hours in the sun; from 11.30am - 2.30pm. I left the hotel @ about 3ish . . .my skin felt fine. About 2/3 hours after getting home, my skin started to feel like it was on fire! So I immediately got into the shower to cool off. The pain was unbearable; so so sore BUT what I couldn't work out was there was NO visible sign of sun burn! My skin had not changed @ all; I had tan lines, but no visible burns which til this day I find odd.
The pain was primarily on my shoulders, tummy, and upper back; so sore, so I applied lots of Aloe Vera gel and Sudocrem for the next 5 days until I got home. That did help to some degree, and until last week, my skin (or so I thought) had started to settle / go back to normal. I have had a little bit of peeling (shoulders), but that's it.

Last weekend (Saturday), I noticed my left hand started to tingle / feel sore, and then that was followed by my tummy hurting / feeling sore again, a bit of my left arm, my toes (left side), and my butt cheeks!! Now I have absolutely no idea what has triggered this off, but I am a bit concerned. What I thought was settling, has now started again, and it's very irritating.

I am still applying Aloe Vera gel to my skin morning and night and using Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Body Butter but that's it. I don't really want to put too much on my skin @ the mo, or cause more trauma to the skin. But this annoying tingling / soreness is really starting to bother me and I don't know what to do especially the pain in my tummy. Experienced odd stomach cramps since this ordeal, and I can't put my finger on why this is happening.

Does ANYONE have any tips on how best I can heal this because it's doing my headin, especially the tingling / pins and needles sensations? Also worrying about Skin Cancer as well.

Thanks!

PS: Not sure if this is of any help but I am Black Caribbean skin type.

UPDATE:

. .I am goggling til I am blue in the face . .running out of ideas here! I ended up at the A&E department last night, and they have no idea what it might be! The stomach cramps, I was given Omeprazole as the Dr thinks its gastric related!? But that still doesn't explain the itching! I have been googling Porphyria . . some of the symptoms are very similar, but I am lead to believe that this is a hereditary disease and nobody in my family suffers with such.

I just want the stomach cramps to stop, the itching to go away, and the sensitivity to go away :(. I am feeling so miserable and fed up, it is starting to get me down :(.  I just want to lead a normal life again.

UPDATE:

Got my blood results back . . .all satisfactory / normal! This is sending me round the bend!
My friend who I went on holiday with is also suffering similar; itchy / irritated skin!
Discussed this with someone who works with skin, and she has said it sounds like maybe I have a parasite in my gut? If my friend is suffering the same, it's possible we ate something that is not agreeing with us
Not sure what my next move is but this has got to stop! :( It's starting to get me down as I just want it to stop and feel normal again. Had such a wonderful holiday and I feel it's sort of being spoilt by this constant skin irritation that I cannot shift!

Ca you experience severe stomach cramps from the imbalance of Electrolytes? If so, that's what I am experiencing . . have been for the past 5weeks! In agony! Only thing to settle it is Buscopan . .slightly!

UPDATE:

The tingling and pins and needles is still bothering me. I have now been to my DR, as I am experiencing not very nice stomach cramps. I had blood tests done today, so hopefully that may show something. In the meantime, my skin is still bothering me. What I find most odd is that yes I have tan lines, but they're not dark dark dark (I am black). I have no rash, no blisters, although my shoulders did peel slightly, but that was it.

This is baffling me no end. I am still using Aloe Vera gel, but I have ditched the After Sun cream as it's heavily fragranced, and I didn't know if that was making things worse? I am now using an Emolliant from the Dr, to see if that soothes things.

I am panicking that my skin will be like this for the rest of my life, if so there is no way I would be able to cope with this :(. It's irritating and frustrating.

This is the first time I have ever experienced this, and I have been to the Caribbean numerous times over the years.

Hello, I have been reading all your posts. I am so sorry you are going through this. In answer to electrolytes causing tummy pain, yes, when they are unbalanced, potassium and other trace minerals can become unbalanced and cause the stomach pain and other pains as well. I hope when your test come back, they will reveal what is going on and your doctor will be able to help you more.

Get a Histacalamine lotion. Name may vary in different countries. Apply liberally over all face and neck many times. Will provide relief and stimulate healing. This is just a sort of first aid, and if conditions don't improve in a day or two then you must see a dermatologist.

Hello~

I truly think you should see a dermatologist and have some tests run as soon as possible, it sounds to me like a form of sun poisoning. In the meantime, try to drink lots of water, avoid any more sun at all costs, continue to apply the pure, aloe vera gel on the affected areas, and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen to help with the pain.

Seeing a Derm here in the UK = 17wk wait from referral of GP! I have continued to drink and eat as I normally would do, but avoiding the sun as I am finding sometimes the sun on my hands makes them go ''funny''! :/

Symptoms of sun poisoning also tend to include nausea, fever, headache, and dizziness and may also be accompanied by fluid loss and electrolyte imbalance.

You should have blood testing by a doctor to see what you need to balance your electrolytes.

Had BT and all are normal unless the Dr has to specifically req for Electrolytes to be tested? But I still feel rubbish; feeling light headed, itching, stomach cramps (main concern).
