2 year old daughter fainting, lethargic spells

My 2 year old daughter fainted a couple weeks ago right after she woke up.  She was out for 1 minute and then regained consiousness on her own.  We call 911 and went to the ER.  She was given all sorts of tests including a heat CT, chest xray, heart sonogram, ekg and everything came back normal.  They sent us home without an answer.  A little over a week later we were outside and she was walking around.  It was early (9am) and we had been outside for 5 minutes or so.  She had been fine all morning.  I was walking along with her and asked her a question.  She looked up to me and was pale and rubbing her eyes.  I picked her up and tried to get her to drink some juice.  She refused.  She became very lethargic.  We took her to the ER.  She did not faint but really wanted to go to sleep.  If my husband hadn't been prodding her the entire car ride, she would have fallen asleep.  She could barely lift her limbs.  She perked up after being at the hospital for about 15 minutes.  She was admitted and kept for two nights.  They did abdominal and chest xrays and sonograms, brain EEG, 48 continuous heart EKG.  She was seen by the pediatric cardiologist and neurologist.  They also did a diabetes fast to ensure she was maintaining her blood sugar.  Everything comes back normal.  Once these spells are over, she is back to her old self.  Please help if you have any information or suggestions.  The doctors just say that sometime toddlers faint and we don't have a medical explanation for it.

Thank you for your comment. They did a regular ekg and then a 48 hour ekg and didn't find anything.  I am going to double check with our pediatric cardiologist to ensure she was properly screened for LQT.  Thanks again.

I'm not a doctor but i have 2 children who have Long QT syndrome, which is an electrical problem with the heart. My son was 2 yrs old and playing in the house when he fainted for the first time, they ran lots of tests and said it was nothing , 3 weeks later he did it again but this time his heart stopped and  thank goodness we new cpr. They ran more tests and did an ekg which if not looking for LQT is missed by many doctors, he was diagnosed and his sister who was 1 at the time also has it. They both have implanted ICD's (there 3rd ones already) and are on medication. They are doing well and we have found a wonderful doctor. Please suggest that they look for this, it is missed way to often, and if not treated can be bad outcome. Good Luck to you!
