Any Ideas?

My 4 year hold has had a cronic cough that sounds like coupe for the last 2 winters.  It seems to last only winters however it is so severe that he vomits with his coughs and several times has turned into phenomia within different areas of his lungs.  He has had blood work conducted to check his immune system, has been tested for all allergies and asthma medicine, a CAT scan of his chest and even tested for Cystic Fibrosis.  All of those test have come back normal. He still has his cough and vomitting I believe from all of the mucus.  It seems as though he gets a "normal cold" and his body cannot shake it off like a normal child.  He has had no nasal discharge at any of these times. Any ideas that I may be able to explore?

concerned17,
If you do a google search for salt inhaler, you'll find a lot of information about a good way to help respiratory problems.
This is a ceramic tube holding salt crystals, and you inhale air that flows through the salt, picking up salt ions.  Breathing this into the lungs helps to kill bacteria.
I know of several people on another health board who have used this with good results for their asthma, allergies, and coughs.
