Apendectomy Weight Loss ? ? ?

I had a apendectomy in oct 2009 and I weighed abot 220 and im 5'9"...after the succesful surgery I have lost about 40lbs......I now weight about 178....I havent weighed that much since I was in high school and Im 26....I have struggled to loose weight since 2002...and all of a sudden after the surgery I lost all that?.....after the surgery my apetite has gone down i only eat like once aday which is unsual for me.....any ideas on why I lost so much weight and my apertite ?

Ya I dont mind at all lol ...at first I was like whoa....this is too fast...and I thought I was going to keep loosing it but I have been at about 178-180 for the past two months so im guessing im ok ....thansk for the response

Maybe because you feel better now?  You no longer have the infection or inflammation in your stomach.  Although there are some people who are the exact opposite and gain weight.  If you are satisfied with your weight loss and feel fine, it should be nothing to worry about.  However, if you continue to lose weight without trying, an abundance of weight, I would see your doctor just to make sure that there is nothing wrong.
