Arm pain at night

Hullo all,

Several nights I have been woken up by a severe pain in my left arm; when this happens I can't bend it or fully straighten it because it is unbearable. Last night it happened twice, once at nearly two am but I was able to go back to sleep and again at about half four and it was so bad I had to alert my family for help. It's always gone by the time I wake up. I've just recently turned twenty-three, female and, aside from recently being completely exhausted, otherwise healthy. I'm going to a GP next week but I would like to have some idea of what this could be due to.

Thank you,
Roisin.

My arm does that when I am at the acupuncturist's office. Try putting a pillow under your shoulder and arm to help support it.
