Bacterial Infection, Chest hurts, inside itches, Fever

Hi, i traveled from New York to China two days ago. Afterwards, I've been diagnosed with bacterial infection in my stomach after i went to the hospital to check out stomach pains. Yesterday night i had a fever with about 37.8 Celsius and right now my chest hurts and the inside feels like it itches. What should I do? Is it because the infection has traveled? or the chest pain is because of the spreading infection?

The doctor prescribed me amoxilin, an antibiotic for medication. He said the chest pain could be from a cold. They're hoping its not a infection in my lungs. My stomach pains are almost gone, but the chest pains are still remaining, and my cold symptoms worsened. I'm waiting until tomorrow to see how I feel, then i will decide whether to get a xray for my chest.

Hello,

It sounds like gastroenteritis. Gastroenteritis can be produced from
viral, bacterial and parasitic infections, contaminated food or water or change in bacteria that normally live in the intestinal tract.Chest pain that you are having is due to radiation of pain.

Take adequate fluids throughout the day. The BRAT diet (ie, bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) or soft easily digestible semisolid diet can also be taken. You also need a course of antibiotics like ciprofloxacin or metronidazole.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing and if you have any additional queries.

Hi, my son spends a lot of time in China.  He often gets the stomach problem.  Did you get any antibiotics from the doctor?  Also, try taking a probiotic (acidophilis, or eat yogurt).

Usually, before my son goes there he gets a prescription for antibiotics.  I think Cipro is the one they give for the stomach.

I'm not sure about the chest pain.  Could it possibly be from jet lag and body aches from traveling?
