Bladder Infections/Abdominal PAIN! HELP!!!!!

Hi!
I woke up yesterday with extreme stomach pains, from my navel down to bladder. I broke out in a cold sweat and my blood pressure dropped dramatically. I went to the doctor, had a urine test done and he said I have a bladder infection. He put me on Bactrim, which I started yesterday, but from what most people say, that relieves their symptoms/pain almost immediately. I'm still feeling the same stomach pain. There is no burning during urination, however the pressure and pain in my bladder is intense when I have to go. Is it possible that it's Interstitial Cystitis and not a bladder infection? He sent my sample off to do a culture test. Maybe I'm overreacting, but it hurts, and when it hurts, you worry. Anyone have similar symptoms? Please help! Thanks!

Could be all that pent up stress. If my body would only give me a break from different things popping out then maybe I could concentrate on the stress. For now its a vicious cycle. symptoms > stress > worse symptoms > more stress etc. Vacation? heck been out of work for about a year.  But dont cry for me Argentina I have saved. Any how let me know how you do......Hope you heal up. Out

Thanks for your reply and kind words! I'll give it a little more time.
As for you, could it possibly just be all the worry that's making you feel the stomach pain? I've often had crazy pains from stress and worrying too much. Take a vacation, even if only for the weekend. Somewhere relaxing, see if it helps. :)
Good luck!

When it hurts you worry.  I am a big believer in that as my wife will attest. All I do is worry. I too have stomach pains around the bladder and pressure and pain when I urinate.
My tests come back negative at least yours showed an infection. Of course with an infection it will hurt let the meds work. Give it time the infection will heal and you will be fine. Me they have no answers and that is truly frustrating and concerning. Keep cool you will be fine it only takes time. Remember everyone is different and sometimes it takes longer to heal in others.
