Blisters

I am staying with some friends at their college and just today I started getting very small blisters all over my left hand. Now I have even more appearing on my right hand and my toes. I have touched a rat today, but just touched its face, not picked it up or anything so I dont think its allergies. I had a minor sore throat for the past two days and the feeling of slightly swollen lymph nodes.
Anything you can tell me to help out would be much appreciated!
Thanks much

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
What you have is probably rat mite dermatitis. This results in eruption of wheals ,papules or vesicles. Since you have sore throat and swollen lymph nodes, you could be having glandular fever, or pharyngitis. The blisters could also be causing the infection and inflammation which can result in swollen glands. Please consult your PCP at the earliest.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hello,

I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it sounds like hand, foot and mouth disease which is caused by Coxsackie’s virus. Symptoms of fever, poor appetite and sore throat can appear three to five days after exposure. A blister-like rash on the hands, feet and in the mouth usually develops one to two days after the initial symptoms.

There is no specific treatment. Treatment is aimed at fever control and maintaining good oral hydration.Take adequate fluids throughout the day and acetaminophen if there is any fever.

If the symptoms persist or become severe then pls consult a physician.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.Kind regards.
