Breathing problems

This has been happening over about 6 months and slowly gotten worse. All day I have trouble breathing and I try and take deep breathes but they don't feel deep enough. It gets worse at night and I''m up half the night because I can hardly breathe. I have wheezing noises but doctor said it's not asthma. I can't even exercise no more because I can't breathe and I have to sit down even after walking up the stairs. Apparently I'm not absorbing B12 vitimins or something and I've been tested for celiac disease and that came back negative. Its affecting my college now aswell as my breathing gets to bad to walk there. =[

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Dizziness could be due to postural hypotension (blood pressure falling with change of position), internal ear problems and cervical spondylitis. All these cause dizziness when you get up from lying down position. Cervical spondylitis and ear problems also cause dizziness on changing the position of the neck.

Other causes are anemia, GERD, hypoglycemia or low sugar and some endocrine problems. Heart problems too can cause dizziness. For heart problems you need to consult a cardiologist, get a 12 lead EKG, ECHO or any other tests that the cardiologist advises.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!

Also, I've started to get dizzy sometimes. I don't know if these could be connected? When I get up from lying down I sometimes get dizzy and when I'm walking along I'll get dizzy for a few seconds and then it will fade away.

Thank you.
How would I be able to find out if I had this heart problem?
Would I need an operation or anything?

Hi

Breathing noises are generally due to air being forced through either fluid or through a narrow passage in the bronchioles.
Try taking steam twice in a day. This will loosen the cough, making breathing easier and remove the noise that comes while you breathe. You could ask your PCP about taking bronchodilators, which will dilate your bronchioles and help you breathe easier. Maybe take a second opinion regarding asthma.
The other possibility is that you have a heart problem which is causing fluid to accumulate in the lung and a labored breathing. This could be serious. Hence consult a cardiologist too.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
