Bursa damaged??

I fell a few months back and bruised the inside of my leg very badly. I now have a rather large lump there that is rather painful, inside of my leg, side of knee. Is this something I should worry about?

Hello,

I hope this writing finds you feeling better.  I agree with the above writer.  I took a hard fall a while back and ended up getting a blood clot in my lower leg.  It wasn't in a main artery so no hospitalization was needed.  I am seeing a vascular surgeon to decide what to do about it.

Smiles.

Hello,

Without examination,it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis, but it sounds like formation of hematoma because of blood trapped in tissues. This blood may need to be drained. Less commonly, it may develop calcium deposits at the injury site in a process called heterotopic ossification. This is more serious.

I feel that you should consult a surgeon and take a second opinion from him. Also get the possibility of infection, muscle tear and fracture/ligament tear ruled out by means of x-rays and MRI of the area.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
