Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
A bursa is a small fluid filled sac around most mobile joints. This is lined by synovial membrane which secretes a slimy substance to lubricate these joints so that there is no friction during movement. A rupture, inflammation or infection of bursa can be very painful. Hope this helps. Take care!
bursa is a padlike sac found in connecting tissue it contains a fluid that reduces friction between tendon and bone.
Hello,
It's a small sac filled with synovial fluid, found in between the joints. I learned this in anatomy class
Well I actually ruptured my bursa a year ago...and my doctor explained that its a sac which has fluid in it. Its located on your knee or I suppose under your knee cap its there to protect your bones when you bend and move. Not sure if there is more than 1 kind of bursa but this is the one I am familiar with. Hope this helps
