CCP Blood test

I had a CCP blood test today and didn't know I was suppose to fast for 8-10 hours before hand. Will the results be affected and should I have the test done again?
Thanks...

Hi

Thanks for keeping me posted.

Yes, 8-10 or 10-12 hours fasting (as specified by the lab) is required for chemistry panel as food is known to interfere with results of these tests. You may have to repeat the tests if your physician is not able to clinically correlate them.
Do let me know if there is any thing else you want to know and please keep me posted. Take care!

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Generally no preparation is required for the CCP test. Hence it should not affect the results. I do not think you need to get it done again.

You can read this article for more information: http://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/ccp/sample.html

Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
