All the best for sure. Hope its nothing more than just a pulled muscle.
Just wanted to let you know that I contacted my doctor and told him what was going on. He said it is very normal to get these pains after surgury, especially since he just released me back to normal activities. He said I most like just pulled a muscle in the capsule?! (not quite sure what the capsule is) but hey if he says im okay.. THAN GREAT!! =) He also said if the pain doesnt go away by Friday than I will have to go in to get checked out.. Wish me the best!!
Thank you for all ur help!!
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
No it will not go away on its own. Costochondritis will not cause any long lasting harm. However an abscess needs prompt attention. Confirmed diagnosis is not possible on net. It may be something else too. Hence it is important you go back to either the surgeon or your PCP.
Hope this helps. Take care!
Thank you for your help!!
If it is what you think it might be, will this go away on its own? Or do I need to take medication to make it go away?
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
There is a strong possibility it is costochondritis (inflammation of the joint between rib and sternum. The inflammation around the joint area gives sharp pain on taking a breath or laughing or yawning. This can also cause tenderness on pressing the area which pains. Anti-inflammatories help take care of the inflammation. A heat pad may also help.
However since you recently had a surgical procedure there is a chance that there is pus collection under the implant. Since it is deep seated, it may not show on the surface. If you also have fever then this is a strong possibility. You would need to see a doctor for confirmation.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
