CONSTANT HEADACHE

Hi I am 18 years old and I have tons of problems! No matter how much or little I sleep, I am ALWAYS tired. I have terrible neck pains ALL THE TIME. My head is constantly hurting. Yesterday I was trying to do my homework and it took me four hours because I had to keep taking breaks from having my head down for so long. I can never concentrate in class because my head is literally killing me and all I can think about is the pain. I have trouble sleeping at night because of the terrible head and neck pain. I toss and turn every night. I am yawning constantly even when I'm doing activity, I get a sudden sense of tiredness and all I want to do is sleep. When I am sitting down or laying down, as soon as I stand up I get really dizzy and it's hard for me not to fall sometimes. I have really dark circles under my eyes and I find it unusual that they constantly hurt. I don't know why but they are very sensitive. The biggest thing for me are my constant headaches. I just want to cry when I get them, not to say that I don't sometimes... I find that pulling my hair makes them ease up a little but it only helps for a little while. I have been to the doctors for this and they never find anything. I am not anemic, they have said I was fatigue and that's about all that I've discovered. I have had an MRI, a cat scan and PLENTY of blood work done. I am vegetarian and my iron count was "fairly high" so I there are really no answers to why I feel this way. If there is anything I can do about my CONSTANT headaches, please let me know. Thanks for reading!

You say you had an MRI performed. Who reviewed it? A family doctor? If so then I suggest you go see a neurologist who can make better sense of an MRI than most other doctors.

Be able to answer the following questions when seeing the neurologist:

1. When do you have the headaches (what time of the day);

2. How long do they last?

3. Do you need medication (eg analgesics)  to help with the headaches?
Or can you deal with the headaches without analgeics?

4. How many tablets eg analgesics do you take per week?

5. Do headaches ever wake you up in the morning?

6.Do you have pain other than headaches?

7. Is there a family history with high or low blood pressure?

8. What medications if any are you taking?

9. What vitamins or supplements are you taking?

10. Do you sleep or work in a closed environment, that is with no open windows?

11. How much water do you drink daily?

12. Do you eat 3 regular meals per day?

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I really appreciate all of the advice. And no I haven't seen a chiropractor but I guess I might have to.

Have you tried seeing a chiropractor?  Maybe your neck is "out" and it's causing headaches..

Sounds like migraines to me. It feels like your head is going to burst and cannot stand anything or anyone? All you want is sleep. I would say you might have migraine headaches. You need meds asap. My prayers are with you too. Hope you start feeling better soon.

You say you are vegetarian.  Since you don't eat meat, perhaps you should take amino acids.  Also eat plenty of almonds for protein.   Some things have to be substituted for the meat that you don't eat.

     Wishing you the best.
