Can an eye doctor detect a brain tumor?

I read somewhere that they can because once they check your eyes, they can see pressure in the eyeball or something like that if it is a tumor. Then I read somewhere else that they can't and you can only have an MRI to see. Does anyone have any info? I wanna ask the Neurology board, but for some reason they wont let me post any questions. I really want some advise from a doctor.

yes, an opthamologist can diagnose brain tumors, the eyes are the window to the mind.

I took my father for an eye exam and the doctor seemed very concerned about what he saw in his eyes. He told us he needed to see a doctor right away for scans. We did and my dad had brain cancer. What exactly the doctor saw we don't know because we did not asked. I was young and dumb and should have asked more questions of the eye doctor because I often wonder what it was he saw. I have heard doctors can see many thing through your eyes not only cancers.

Well, I have constant headaches and I'm hoping it's from eye strain. So if I go to the eye doctor, I was thinking maybe they could see if it was something more serious if it wasnt eye strain.

They only take 2 free ?'s a day, after is a fee to post. As far
as an answer, the eye can be dilated by an Opthalmologist & they
can see in & vessels behind eyeball. If signs of papilledema
(vessel swelling) are present, they'll refer you to Neuro for a
scan. A tumor must be in a vascular path causing interruption.
Papilledema is also present w/ severe hypertension that can be
causing a pressue build up for eye doc to see. A cyst in a
specific brain lobe area shows this symptom too. Most of the
time, a clinical evaluation suggests more testing. How you walk/
talk/words used/+labs are better than asking Opthalmologist if
they think I have a tumor. You are probably thinking of a
pseudo-tumor. Pseudo means 'not/fake' but mimics pressure or
sometimes a slight brain distubance. Talk to your Dr. Sounds
like you're anxious abt something?

im no doctor but i guess unless it is directly in the eye they will not be able to see a tumor. However if your eyes do not move or follow correctly this could point to something.
high pressure in the eye is a sign of gloucoma.
