Cancer in the neck galnds

I have had a lump and pain in my neck for a while. My dr thought it was just
an infection. Have had many types of antibiotics and nothing has worked.
I am concerned that it is cancer of some kind as I have had skin cancer
when I was a teenager. My dr is not listening to my concerns. What should
I do?

This discussion is related to small bean sized lump in neck , bad hoarse cough , hurts to look up and down.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Depending on its position, a lump in the neck can be a thyroid swelling, a cyst, a lipoma or a gland or swollen lymph node. If it is a swollen lymph node and it is paining, then since you have a history of cancer, this should be investigated. If this doctor is not listening, then consult another. At least a CT scan or a MRI of the lump should be done.
Hope this helps. Take care!

See an Endocrinologist, and also find a new GP.
