Can't get a diagnosis

I've suffered with recurrent fever (102), nausea, joint pain, fatigue for 2 yrs.  Seen primary care, infectious disease, rheumatologist, and hematologist but can't find a reason.  In Feb 2010 I had surgery to remove foreign surgical material.  Dr. and/or hospital left a scratch pad inside me when I had hysterectomy in 2001.  Felt great until 4 weeks ago when my fevers returned.  Had a neck scan done recently because dentist found a lump in throat.  Radiologist found spots on my lungs and a 6mm nodule in right upper lobe.  Having a repeat chest scan this week.  I've been tested for RA, leukemia, lyme disease, tb, chest xrays, labs, scans but no one can give me a reason for fevers.  I'm very frustrated and tired of seeing drs and having tests.  Should I see an endocrinologist?  I do have hypothyroidism.

This discussion is related to fever of unknown origin.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You should follow up with chest specialist to further investigate the nodule in the lung. Either this is a localized infection or it could also be cancer. Earlier the fever could have been due to foreign body. But now since this has been removed, and lung is known to have a nodule, this should be further investigated.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Could be Staf infection! Especially from that foreign material that was once in your body! Staf can staf dormant in your body and cause a lot of problems. It can be even hard to find. I found out from a doctor that you can test staf going deep up in the nose. Could also be Crohns Diease! I am having simialr problems! Good Luck!
