Chest pain, arm numbness and upper back pain

I have been to the hospital 3 times for chest pain, mostly on the left side, left arm pain (sometimes numb, sometimes achey), and sharp pain in my upper back.  They ran an EKG, CT scan (they thought i had a blood clot in my lungs), and a chest x-ray.  Their results where all basically the same, that it was anxiety or indigestion.    Now, I have been on Zoloft for a long time now for anxiety, but when I started having chest pains and numbness in my arm, I began having panic attacks. (Mainly because nobody can figure out what the problem is)  So, I am now on meds for anxiety attacks, which isn't helping because nobody can tell me what is wrong with me. Now I still have numbness/sharp pains in my left arm, which varies in strength.  I have a pain directly to the right of my left shoulder blade and another about 2 inches below my collar bone.  Pain medication temperarily helps. The other thing that really helps is drinking beer, which is very costly.  Sometimes it hurts when I breathe in, but it may just be the expansion of my chest that hurts.  Does anyone know of anyone who has the same sort of thing. This has been going on for 4 months and I just cannot take it anymore. I am basically afraid its my heart since my arm keeps getting numb and my chest hurts.  Help!!! Please! (Oh yeah, Im 26 years old, I smoke, but I am pretty healthy. I am 5'5'' and weigh 124 lbs)

I cannot believe there are so many others with this problem. I have been having tightness/pain/numbness on the left side of my chest, pain and numbness down my left arm and extremely high heart rate (130-150 bpm). I am 22, smoke and am slightly overweight, but I exercise regularly and don't take drugs and only drink socially. I also have problems sleeping due to this.
First Doctor told me stress, but the anxiety did not start until I began thinking I was going to have a heart attack.

My current doctor is lovely, but disregards much of what I say due to my age. I am willing to accept anxiety as a cause, but I would like everything else rules out first to be safe.

If I get a diagnosis I will post again!

I am 24 yrs old. I have had several episodes here in the past week like that. I am on Xanax for anxiety but this is not like any of my other attacks. These HURT! hurts to breath hurts to move. All I can do is grab my chest n open n close my left hand. Hurt so bad once when I wAs driving I broke out in a cold sweat an had to pull over. I couldn't go any further. I haven't been to doctor yet but I'm afraid I'll end up there within next week because it's killing me.

I just found this site and i am glad i did. I been having chest pains for a long time. I am not the type of man who goes to the hospital (or so i thought) .

I have never experienced a tightning chest pain in the middle of my chest, and i thought it was a heart attach, so i went to the er and after the usual tests, they said everything was fine. They gave me no meds. Two days later, the same thing except its spreading to my arms, shoulders and back. Im not sure if i have bad nerves, or if im too stressed with a newly opened business, college, and a jealous girlfriend. What i do kno is that i need to find out whats going on because now im scared.

Has someone found a way to reduce or stop these pains?
