Chronic stiff neck and flu-like symptoms

I googled my symptoms and it brought me to a blog thread on this site. It seems like alot of people had suffered from the same exact symptoms as my self and reading through the blog it kind of freaked me out because i am seeing that people have been battling this from any where between 1 month to 10 years. The all have seeked-out treatment  but no one seems to have any answers or ideas of what it could be. I have only been suffering for about 2 weeks now and just praying every night before that it will be better in the morning. so 1 morning i woke up with a stiff neck that started   at the base of my head and traveled down thu the back left side of my neck and into my left shoulder, a couple days later the pain was accompanied by a bad headache persistently behind my eyes with this throbbing  like pain and behind my left ear that almost feels like a bad earache. Then a day or two after that i began to have skin soreness kind of like when you have the flu, only it was in my scalp and on the aching part of my neck. it would hurt to like brush my hair or run my fingers thru my hair. Now, since last night, i am noticing its hard for me to swallow and my glands seem a bit swollen. has anyone found any kind of answers as to what this could be and how to treat it. I would love the feed back.

P.S. I just started a new job and have no insurance at the moment, so i have not been checked out but any type of health professional yet.

Thanx again!
