Constant body aching and periodic weakness

I am a 22 year old female and for approximately 7 or more years I have felt constant aching in my entire body. Mainly my arms, back, knees and sharp lightning bolt pains in my chest so sharp they knock the wind out of me. No tests have ever been conducted my doctor just knocked it up to be strained muscles, daily stress and something in my knees he calls chrondomalasia?(i think that is the correct spelling). My chest pains get so severe some days i cant breathe or even move. I thought the first few times i was having a heart attack. Again my doctor told me it is just a strained muscle or 'growing pains' he had them when he was a kid, im not going to die he told me and sent me home with exersizes and muscle relaxers. For a short period after I thought maybe it was depression and it was taking its toll on my body because i am also a very sad/angry and moddy person. I never used to be, I was always a very outgoing freespirited person but this pain is sucking out my personality. I q&a my doctor and he said because i wasnt having suicidal thoughts it wasnt depression and sent me home again with no tests done-nothing. I would love to consult with a different doctor. But we have a shortage of doctors in this area and it would be impossible. The past four years I have become a chronic drug (marijuana and percocet-not perscribed) and alcohol user because it helps subside the pain temporarly. Some days my arm pains are so bad i can barely grasp anything with my hands. I dont know what to do. I am in chronic pain and I am getting nowhere with my doctor. Please help!

I'm in the same boat as you guys. actually I've been up since 4 this morning trying everything I can think of to get the pain to ease. I lost my job so I have no insurance now. Which means no money for meds.  I have fibromyalgia. It has taken me 8 yrs and countless meds to find a doctor that was able to help me. I learned as I got older that the doctors  work for you. Don't let them tell you it's in your head or your just depressed. They had me thinking that I was making it up in my head just to get drugs. I found a doctor that new a little about fibromyalgia and he put me on Lyrica. Now It did not take all the pain away. About 25% of it I would say but that is the best I've felt since I was in high school. It's amazing to wake up and feel your age. So don't give up. If you feel like something is wrong there most likely is. Only you know how your body really feels. Just remember you pay the doctors they don't pay you. If they wont help you. Try someone else. Good luck. And believe in your self.

I have this to, but my family thinks that it is all in my head, or say I complain to much or am to tired for my age (35).  I have 3 kids, 6,3,2, and there are some days that I ache so much I want to cry.  I constantly tighten my body b/c it gives me a little relief, but I definately depend on my Motrin.  I have to take Motrin almost every day, and when the weather is rainy or cold I have to take it a few times a day.  In the summer, it is not as bad.  I keep mentioning it to my doctors, but they just pass it off they all think it is a symptom of my Post Partrum Depression (which I have been on Zoloft for) but this pain has been for most of my life that I can remember.  I don't know who to turn to to get some real ans.  I know that there is not much they can do for fibermyolgia, but if that is what it is, I would just like a diagnosis, so that people would believe me.  I am tired of people complaining that I shouldn't be this tired or achy.  Most of the time I have to fake that I am feeling ok,  I don't stop at anytime because as soon as I sit down, I will fall asleep and with little children I can't do that.  I just want someone to believe me.

i also have chronic pain, that no one has been able to diagnose. For a while people told me it may be lymes disease, but the tests were negative. I am 21 and have had extreme, pervasive achiness (again, it's much worse in the cold) ever since i can remember - my mom used to just tell me it was growing pains.  I keep praying that I will get better or will find a doctor who can helpfully diagnose me.
Keep hoping everyone, i honestly believe this life is short and we will be free of pain someday with Jesus, though I know (very well) that doesn't take the pain away now.

I also suffer from chronic pain every day for the last year and get numbness in my left side they first thought it was a stroke and then the test came back fine so then went to see a neorologist and he has me on neurotin for my pain, it helps but makes me feel week and clumsey at times, then I have severe chest pain again to the ER and they said im just fine so they did and xray and went to pc for results and she tols me i have emphasyma and off to a neuro phycologist and she did a bunch of testing and came to the result my pain and weekness comes from chronic depression and anxiety she said its call somatoform disorder so now i cant believe this is what it is but with every test i have done its normal so im off to see a shrink not sure what im depressed about i feel just fine but we will see. Im so sorry you feel this way I know how you feel. Best wishes for you and hope you find out whats wrong with you soon the drugs and drinking wont help you out.
Good Luck

I have the same problem as you do.  I am trying to sell my Townhome.  So, I just cleaned it, and now I can barely move.  My fingers are stiff and hurt when I bend them.  My back is aching.  My feet hurt so bad I can barely stand.  My legs are soar.  It just hurts all over.  When it gets this bad I have to take a hot bath just to be able to get around.   When I have been sitting for a while and I try to get up I can barely walk.  I can not bend my ankles they are so stiff.  So it is real hard for me to walk and every step is very painfull so, I have to start off slow and limping.  Then after a while they will start to bend and I can walk.  People ask me why are you limping what did you do?  I am like nothing, I can bend my ankles they are stiff and I have to walk around tell they get better and I can walk normal.  Still even when they are not stiff it hurts to walk, every step I take I am in pain from my body aching especially my back.
They tested me for arthritis, leukemia, AIDS, and a bunch of other things.  I can't find a doctor that even believed that chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia even exist.  I did find one once but they were not taking new patients.  There is not test for them so most doctors believe it is not even a real disease.  I am so tired all the time, that all I can do is go to work and to the grocery store and to the doctor.  THat's it, this is all I have the strength to do.  If I try and go do anything else I am too tired and falling asleep at work.  So, I have to sleep and gather my strength to be able to make it to work each day.  I have no life and this is killing me.  I am so depressed I just want to die.

hi, my daughter (10) has been suffering from pain every since I can remember.  We have had every kind of test done only to be told everything is normal and it's just in her head.  This really angered me.  She does much worse when it's cold.  Although the pain is there almost everyday but at least she is functional.  During the winter she has missed over a month of school over the past 2 years.  We was given a poor diagnosis (Cincy Childrens hosp) that it was a problem with her mitochondria but found out from Cleveland Clinic that it is a chronic pain syndrome.  Has anyone heard of this in children?  We have been fighting this thing with her school (missing so much) and we are at our witts end!  We live in Ky and are thinking of moving to Texas if will help her feel better during winter.

Does it hurt to move your eyeballs up towards the sky without moving your head and neck.  If so start being tested for different mucsle diseases.

Sounds like me too.  I am awaiting results for Fibromyalgia.  I am hoping it is this, as I just want to know what is causing it.
I have remissions of it.  It first started about 6 months ago, a went for a while, until about 3-4weeks ago.
The only thing that worries me is that both times I have been over cautious, and checked myself inside and out.  I found a breast lump the first time, that was all clear but was told I did have thickening both sides (what this means I do not really know)  Now I have found lumps in the other breast, which I am waiting to have checked out.  The doctor seems to think it is thicking of the glands.
So now every time I have these attacks I am putting 2 and 2 together and associating it with breast lumps, and that it is something else.
I can cope with it, I would just like to know that it is deffinately not "C" related.
The only thing that I can say is different is that once I go to sleep it all seems to go away, as soon as I wake it's back.  It does not make me feel tired, but sometimes I just want to go to bed to get rid of the aches.

I am now 41 and have suffered from your symptoms for 20 years. I was diognosed with fibromialagy in my 30s. Thank God! I am not crazy. This disorder also may include skin and sleeping disorders as well as depression. STAY AS ACTIVE AS YOU CAN and watch the wheather. Warmer climates seem to help me as I live in MN and winter kills me. Some days even the bottom of my feet hurt. By the way almost every woman in my family tree suffers with this to some degree.

Hi, you sound like you are describing me. I have constant chronic pain all over my body every single day. The doctors didn't know what it was, but I kept hounding them for 3 years until they figured it out. I went through about every test you can think of, and I was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and myofacsical pain syndrome. Look them up and see the symptoms, you may be suprised that it sounds like you. Hope this helps, good luck and keep us posted.
