Constant pain?

Hello, I'm trying to find some info for my mom. She has been having constant pain in her upper right side for about a year. It wraps around her body to her back and chest (below breast). She says it always hurts and some days it is so bad she wants to cry. It feels tighter than the left side but not like knots. History: She has mild case of lupus, former back injury, she's 57, and slightly overweight.

She had her gallbladder removed in 1973.

I keep telling her that it could be something serious but since she don't have medical insurance she won't go. :(

Thanks for the replies.

It may be just her lupus. Sometimes lupus will do that. If you are still worried just go to the doctor to get it checked out.

Has she had her gallbladder checked? I just had mine removed and I would have pain that started under my right breast then spread out until it reached my back under my right shoulder blade. It felt like I was being stabbed. I also had times were it was bad enough I vomited. I would have never thought to have my gallbladder checked had it not been for a friend that had hers removed last year and she was in pain for years with hers before she finally did a ct scan and ultrasound when she went to the er. She was then rushed to a larger hospital where she had emergency surgery. Also when my surgeon was checking he laid me on the table and was pushing along my rib cage and when he got around my gallbladder area it was very tender and sore to the touch. He told the guy who was there to observe that it was a common tell of gallbladder problems. Best wishes, I hope she gets relief soon Sissie

Go see a doctor. Nobody can diagnose this over the internet.
