Diarrhea

I have had diarrhea for a very long time.  Probably 5 to 6 years, and it never goes away, even with Anti-Diarrheals.  The stool is sometimes bloody(not alot) and always greasy looking and sometimes black.  I had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy done about 2 years ago. They did not find anything except a few poplyps which they removed.  I just want to know what if anything could cause this.  I dont currently have insurance but I guess Im going to give it another try when I do receive insurance.  I feel like there may be something very wrong.  Any input on the situation would be greatly appreciated.  You can also email me at ***@**** if you have anything that may be of help.

PLEASE consider googling, "Habba Syndrome". It is treatable and there are so many physicians who aren't aware of this syndrome.

You really need to see a gastroenterologist when possible.  You shouldn't bleed w/your bowel movements.  Even if you don't have insurance you can probably go thru the health sciences center and see a specialist if you are near a Medical School facility.
There are infections and inflammatory disorders that can cause someone to bleed w/bowel movements.  I would think it would be less likely to be something cancerous as long as you've had symptoms and the fact you had an egd and colonoscopy 2yr ago.
Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are 2 inflammatory bowel disorders that are lifelong but not really lifethreatening.  There are treatments for them.  They are usually diagnosed by colonoscopy and biopsy.  That's however confusing since you said you had an exam 2 yr ago and nothing was found. I hope it was a gi dr who did your scope and not just a primary care?  It really makes a difference.  Can you find out if you had biopsies done during your scopes?  You really should get a copy of the scope report and any biopsies so you have them for your records and the next dr. you see will need to see them too.
If you have any stool studies done get those results, and if you've never had stool studies then you need to have them done to r/out infectious diarrhea.
The last thing is the possibility of Celiac Disease.  One doesn't usually think of blood w/stools of those w/Celiac Disease but if it's been going on a long time then your intestines are pretty sick I'd think and maybe you could bleed.  Remember hemorroids can bleed too but if the blood is mixed in with the stool if probably isn't from roids.  I don't know if I helped but heres my 2cents worth.   God Bless You,  Squibby
