dizziness

At night before I go to bed I will close my eyes and feel like im the only thing lying still in the room. the room is spinning around me it feels like im in a box and someone is picking it up and tossing it around. when I open my eyes it goes away slowly but i still feel dizzy. recently its been getting worse. some times if im lying down during the day and if i close my eyes just for a moment i will get the same feeling. also during the day before lunch time i will feel really faint, my eyes get super heavy and i feel the need to just close them. my vision gets blurry and i cant concentrate. sometimes i feel like im going to pass out. i went to the doctors and they had no answers for me. they did a simple neuro exam and ear exam but nothing. i had a blood test done but the doctors havent called me. at first i thought this could be vertigo??? please help

The sensation of "flying" can occur in the first stage of sleep; I've actually had this happen to me before. Did they check your glucose levels? I only ask because you said you felt faint before lunch and sound constantly fatigued. The blurred vision and possible hypotension could be related to some diabetic factor. She's the doctor^^ but it might be something to look in to. Do you have excessive thirst or urination? Weakness, weight loss, difficulty breathing?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you feel the dizziness when eyes are closed, then it is vertigo. If ear is the cause of vertigo (rotator movement of self or environment) then it could be due to benign positional vertigo, Meniere's disease, vestibular neuronitis and labyrinthitis. Other causes of dizziness are otitis media, trauma, side effects of drugs, TMJ, and fluid in ear. All these causes will have to be ruled out one by one by your ENT through specialized test. Less common disorders that cause vertigo include multiple sclerosis, seizures, infections, fractures at the base of the skull, head injuries, and tumors growing in or near the base of the brain. Vertigo can sometimes be part of a migraine attack and occasionally occur without the headache.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Take care!
