wow thanks everyone so much for the replies! I went to a new doctor and so far she thinks its because i have low blood pressure( vaso- vagal ) with a combination of lack of sleep and poor diet.she recommended i drink lots of water and sleep and eat better, which I'm practicing now. shes doing some blood test to see if I'm low on any important stuff and if the dizziness continues then we'll move forward from there!
Thanks so much I really appreciate it
Besides going to the doctor, an excellent idea, given your symptoms, a blood pressure monitor can be bought over the counter- Omron is considered a good brand. When you are having the problem with standing, try lying down for a few minutes, take your blood pressure (pretty easy with the instructions), then sit up for at least a minute, take it again, then stand for at least a minute and take it again. See if your blood pressure drops with standing.
You can also buy a blood sugar monitor quite cheaply, I'm told, over the counter. You might want to take some measurements with one when you feel your sugar is down and take the results to your doctor.
It's important to describe what you just did here to the doctor- that gives important clues as to what they should be looking for.
That happens to me! my vision blurrs like crazy when i stand sometimes! and my blood suger does drop when between meals, so much so sometimes i feel like vomiting. when i stand I'm light headed, but the regular dizzy everything seems like its moving. i wouldnt say the room is spinning but if I move too fast it looks that way. I normally do take care of myself but life gets so crazy sometimes college and work @_@ I'll call my doctor Asap.
I suggest you go to an ear, nose and throat specialist and see if a VNG test would be in order. It tests how your eyes track to see if your vestibular system has a problem or not.
Further, have you ever tested yor blood sugar when you skip a meal? If not, you may get low blood sugar when you get that. When my blood sugar gets low, I have gotten shaky, a headache, etc..
When it comes to drinking, if you don't drink enough water, you might develop a case of orthostatic hypotension, where your blood pressure drops when you stand up and your vision can blur.
Not getting enough sleep can make your cognitive functions not do as well.
When you say dizzy, can you describe what you mean- are you light-headed, do you or the room seem to be spinning, does it seem like you are swimming or ?
I also suggest you speak with your primary doctor and see if there are any diagnostic tests, such as a brain scan, he/she feels are appropriate and/or if they feel they should refer you to a neurologist.
And of course, take care of yourself! You might find you improve by getting proper nourishment, fluid, and sleep for your body to function its best!
I hear fine and every once in a while my head hurts. not always.
can you hear ok does your head hurt?
