Doctors don't know what's wrong :(

Hello, my doctor has done blood tests and can't find anything for IBS. But every one and then sometimes months apart but usually a few days at a time my top abdominals get really tense and the pain really aches in any position so whether at work or in bed it's really hard to cope with. It then seems to make its way down and I feel really bloated. From my research etc I think it must be what I'm eating but my doctors found nothing and even when I eat less stooge it still seems to happen even when I've hardly eaten. It's making me lose my appetite and extremely quiet which is unusual for me lol :( i do feel constipated and uncomfortable but I don't know that's just me thinking I am because of the bloating and the more you tense in the bathroom the more your abdominals ache after. I suppose I'm just worried that it could be more serious, I always think it's better to ask people as sometimes I feel doctors can be a bit dismissive. Any help on what it is, advice to prevent or medicine would be amazing. Thank you for reading my waffle :)

Try eating foods high in fiber, drinking lots of water and taking Culturelle. I was always bad constipated. I recently started that's Culturelle for my bacterial vaginosis. I realized in a couple of days I started having regular bowel movements. It was amazing it cured my bv but also having it help my constipation problem too wow just amazing! :)
Good luck.

If you think it could be caused from what you are eating maybe you could get checked for Celiac?

It may be a good idea to get your breath tested for Helicobacter Pylori.  Blood tests do not show correct readings.  Sometimes a stool test is taken.

It also may be worth checking if you have diverticular disease.
As you are having problems going to the toilet, ask the doctor if he can prescribe Movicol.  This softens the stools and you can mix a sachet of powder with a mug of water and drink this.  You can have more than one sachet.  It doesn't deplete your body of fluids.

Make sure that you drink plenty of water - 2-3 litres (4-6 pints) per day is usually recommended.  Keep a note of what you consume (eat and drink) to see if you can find a trigger food that makes you more bloated and uncomfortable.  I would suggest not eating white bread and any highly refined and processed foods, and keep of fatty and fried foods and see how things go.

Doing some for of exercise like walking will help you to move your stools.  If you continue to have a problem, go back to the doctor so that he do or send you for further investigation to the appropriate consultant.

Best wishes.
