Wow, really? I thought doing a detox was a good thing.
I have seen my doctor for the bloating and has found nothing. My bowel movements used to be 2-3x a day. Since it dropped to 0-1x a day, I don't get that "emptied out" feeling anymore. I do drink plenty of water. Maybe I should look into more fiber. Thanks for your reply.
The colon detox programs have been proven to be shams time and time again. The body has its own mechanism for cleansing itself (bowel movements) and the detox programs contain chemicals which solidify in the gut - this is what is eventually "passed". The frequency of your bowel movements does not sound like its a problem.
The constant bloating could be due to IBS or food allergies - have you seen a doctor about this? Drinking plenty of water, taking fiber pills and modification of diet may help. Milk products, wheat products, nuts, are typical culprits.
