Drug Interactions?

Recently I went on progesterone at a 2.5mg dosage.  Last night I had a headache and took some Anacin.  In the middle of the night, I woke up with severe nausea and stomach pains that felt like someone was stabbing a knife throughout my whole torso.  This morning the pain is still there as is some slight nausea though I was able to eat something.  Does anyone know of drug interactions between Anacin and Progesterone?  Is there something else it could be?

I've been taking Tums, Pepto and Pepcid since the symptoms started.  They seem to help with the pain but now I'm constantly hungry.  Is that also a symptom of ulcers or gastritis?

Hi,

I don’t think there’s any drug interaction between progesterone and anacin. The pain which you suffered is probably due to some acute gastritis/peptic ulcer pain which typically occurs in the night and is usually associated with nausea. If you take some antacids/omeprazole/pantoprazole, you’ll be fine. Please consult gastroenterologist/physician and you may need an endoscopy in case the symptoms recur on regular basis, otherwise a short course of anti-ulcer drugs should be fine.

I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted.
