ENT, Heart, Joint and oher symptoms - help please

Hi,

For several months I have enlarged right tomsil, and lymph nodes under that tonsil on the neck are also enlarged, I feel weekness all the time, I'm getting tired very quickly even if I'm no doing any work, I'm sweating at the night, and also my joints are getting sick and inflamed - it happens asymmetrically, starts from one leg - knee-joint, and several days later can start on hand fingers.

Also shortness of breath and pains around heart area.

What could it be?

I am on long-term business trip and can't find good doctor.

Thanks.

If you are getting lots of infections in the tonsils and the tonsils are persistently enlarged, I suggest you see an Ears, Nose and Throat specialist.
The tonsils are our body's first line of defence against bugs, but if they are damaged, the specialist may decide that you should get them removed.
Enlarged tonsils are not always a sign of infection.  But if you are feeling unwell then you should get the tonsils checked out by the specialist.

Glandular fever, also referred to as "mono" or the "kissing disease" is a viral infection.  It is highly contagious.  The tonsils would look swollen but also have white plaques on them.  You would be very ill for a few weeks.

To ease any discomfort in your throat you can try salty water gargles.  Also drink plenty of fluids.  Hot honey and lemon is very soothing.

If you continue to feel unwell, book an appointment to see a doctor.

You need to go and see a doctor when you can.  It could be lots of things.  Have you ever had glandular fever (I believe they call it mononucleosis in the US)?

Why can't you find a good doctor local to where you are?

Sounds like it may be a viral or bacterial infection.

Make sure that you drink plenty of fluids and take pain relief medication as directed on the packet to help relieve any joint pains.  Don't drink any alcohol and don't eat any fried foods and any containing cream.

You do need to get a medical assessment and the
only way to find out the cause of your symptoms is to get to a medical centre and get checked out by the doctor.

Make an appointment to see a doctor urgently.
